Gold IRA Fees Explained

The easiest mistake is to compare only one advertised annual fee. A Gold IRA can involve account costs and transaction costs, and both matter.

Account-level costs

Metal transaction costs

Dealers may sell coins or bars above the current spot value and buy them back below the retail sale price. Ask for the exact dollar price of the product and how the same product would be priced if you sold it back immediately. That helps reveal round-trip friction.

How to compare quotes

Get the fee schedule and a product-specific purchase quote in writing. Identify which company receives each fee: dealer, custodian or depository. Then ask which amounts can change over time.

For a provider-specific example, see Noble Gold fees.
